Before and After

Here are some examples of renovation and remodeling work. In the first pair of images here, we stripped off a shoddy addition on the side of an old barbeque joint and built on a properly constructed addition and also upgraded the facade by improving the roof lines and adding an awning. For the interior, we rebuilt the bathrooms, revised the floor-plan, and assisted the owners with all issues related to upgrading the kitchen to current standards with new flooring, fire sprinkler improvements, kitchen exhaust hood upgrades, FRP panel walls, floor drains, grease trap, and the myriad of approvals associated with the permit office, fire marshall, department of health, and DEQ. The owners opened a new restaurant in the building and soon after they called us back to build a parking lot addition as well.

Here we created a new elevated roof section, installed three french door assemblies with corresponding plaster and lath stucco arches and raised the ceiling height on the front porch and the adjacent interior spaces.

Here we replaced the Kitchen cabinets and flooring, deleted the wall separating the Kitchen from the Living Room, and raised the ceiling height in the kitchen to 10' and the living room to 12'. We matched and patched the wood flooring that was existing in the living room prior to removing the wall. We also salvaged the slab granite counter tops and then located some addtional granite that matched to make all of the backsplashes and a new bar height peninsula.

Here we removed a poorly constructed addition off of the back of this historic structure built in the 1840's. We then stripped the walls and ceilings down to the studs and joists. We repaired and reinforced the structuraal elements of the building, replaced all of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and made all improvements necessary to convert the building to a commercial office and conference center. Through all of the work, we were able to preserve and refinish the antique solid oak strip flooring that was already in place.Lastly, we converted the back yard into a state of the art playground for the adjacent early learning center.

This is an example of substantial storm damage from Hurricane Katrina in Baton Rouge. This home sustained serious damage from a large oak tree falling onto the home - it nearly split the home in half.

This is an example of what a floor looks like before we feather in new boards and the result after installation, prep, and finishing has been completed.

Hurricane damage ... While performing the repairs, we also discovered rot related to improperly installed synthetic stucco and we ultimately replaced the EIFS with traditional plaster and lath stucco.

The following photos are examples of structural insulated panel roof systems that were added to existing homes. These are fairly low cost methods to create open air patios and screen room enclosures. Glass panels can be incorporated as well to create a sunroom or atrium.
